The VIA-S100 Windows-based archiving and transmittal software with
measuring capabilities is designed for the professional who needs a simple way
to store images, transmit them over the Internet or local area network (LAN),
measure details, or record a series of measurements for use in other
applications to make reports, charts, spreadsheets and presentations.
The VIA-S100 can also print the image with or without the VIA measurement
overlay. The VIA-S100 is designed to grab an image using a frame grabber, or a
TWAIN compatible device, such as a digital camera or scanner. The software can
also operate without a camera or a scanner when images are created and
displayed on screen with another application.
Measuring features include X, Y, XY, diagonals (point to point), angles,
circumferences, particle counting, hardness measurements, and a timer. The
VIA-S100 software also allows users to query its database of stored images by
descriptive fields or use a thumbnail search. Transmit the image along with
overlay, text, and voice information to another computer for review,
inspection, examination or comparison. Clip all or part of an image and insert
it into a document or presentation. E-mail, network, or link by modem to share
information.
The VIA-S100 is compatible with Intel/486 or higher PCs having 32 MB RAM,
SVGA monitor, and a Windows 95/98 operating system, or Windows NT 4.0 or
higher. Additional computer software requirements include MS Office Pro with
Access database software, and Microsoft Outlook or Exchange E-mail software.
Archive
and retrieve images with information such as text and voice messages.
Review thumbnail images before retrieving, or search the database for a key
word or album name.
Transmit
images, text, and voice to share information with another workstation for
further review. Images can be transmitted with the marker overlay.
Unlimited
calibrations may be stored for future use.
Measures
the horizontal (X) dimension, vertical (Y) dimension, horizontal-vertical (XY)
dimension and diagonals (point-to-point).
Calculates
the angle when operators place two or more points to define each leg of an
angle, even when the vertex is not in view.
Measures
the radius and circumference of a circle when operators place three or
more points along the perimeter of a circular image.
Measures
hardness test indentations and automatically determines Knoop, Vickers, or
Brinell hardness values. Approximate conversions to Rockwell B or C can also
be displayed.
Statistics
mode with mean, standard deviation, low reading, high reading, and range
for X, Y, XY, point-to-point, angle, radius, circumference, area measurements.
Transfer the data to a spreadsheet.
Security
menu allows protection of calibrations. With this protection enabled, only
the password holder can alter calibrations.
Allows
comparison of half of the live image with half of the stored image on
screen for quick visual inspection.
Optional
knob controller with card allows quick and precise positioning of
measurement lines that is the hallmark of other Boeckeler VIA measuring
products.
Optional
digitizing tablet allows quick and precise positioning of markers.
Calculates
the area of a cell or shape when operators define the cell or shape.
Offers a
counting mode. Operators tag each cell or particle to be counted. Up to 10
different categories can be marked.
Measurement
lines may be displayed in different colors or shades for optimal contrast
with the video image.
Networking
capability allows multiple users to share the database. Images may be
retrieved or posted anywhere in the network, without exiting the systems. FTP
access and E-mail are available from within the system.
Print
to any Postscript or inkjet printer that uses a Windows 95/98 driver.
Video
input and output available with any TWAIN compatible device and one of two
Coreco Ultra II frame grabbers, or one of three FlashPoint Intrigue frame
grabbers; NTSC composite, S-Video (Y/C) and RGB.
Clipboard
allows users to clip all or part of an image and insert it into a word
processing document, presentation application, or spreadsheet.
Backup
feature allows user to save and restore settings and calibrations.
Compatible
with Intel/486 or higher PCs having 32 MB RAM, SVGA monitor, and Windows 95/98
or NT 4.0 or higher operating system. Additional computer software
requirements include MS Office Pro with Access database software, and
Microsoft Outlook or Exchange E-mail software.
