SIGHTech
Introduces
Mini-Eyebot™
Fully Integrated Machine Vision
System for an Ultra-low Price
SIGHTech Vision Systems, Inc. introduces
Mini-Eyebot™, the latest member to SIGHTech's
self-learning machine vision family. Priced very low and only two cubic
inches small, Mini-Eyebot is arguably the smallest and least expensive
machine vision system in the Solar System.
The camera, TTL output, and intelligence are all
integrated into a compact package. Absolutely no programming is necessary,
and Mini-Eyebot never uses a PC.
Operation could not be easier: there are simply
two buttons. First, press the ERASE button to clear out the memory. Next,
point Mini-Eyebot to the object you want to learn. Press and hold the LEARN
button until the light on the unit goes out (usually less than five seconds).
Now any other object Mini-Eyebot sees will be
considered a defect. A simple "Y" or "N" is sent out of the TTL on
the back of Iris. “Now you can really throw away that PC and skip
all those programming classes,” said Francis Tapon, SIGHTech’s Vice President
of Sales and Marketing. “Mini-Eyebot is truly
plug and play; if it doesn’t work in 5 minutes, return it.”
SIGHTech recommends using Mini-Eyebot to spot
gross defects. Applications that look for presence/absence are best. For
example, Iris can verify that a bottle cap is on or not, or if a screw
has been placed or not. It can also verify that a part is in the correct
orientation.
For more subtle defects and/or color applications,
SIGHTech advises using either Eyebot or Hornet,
its more sophisticated products.
SIGHTech demonstrated a working prototype at the
1997 AIA Vision Show in Santa Clara. SIGHTech expects to post a picture
on this website soon. Mini-Eyebot will be in full production and available
when a customer who needs several hundred (if not thousands) of units.
If you are interested in purchasing more than 100 units, please contact
SIGHTech and we will develop Mini-Eyebot for
you in six months.
